Introduction

When an accident or incident occurs it is your responsibility to attend to the matter and report it. In the case of a serious accident or injury, senior management must be advised.

Note: If a Notifiable Event occurs Worksafe NZ must be notified of the event. 

Notification must be given by the fastest possible means in the circumstances.  If required by Worksafe NZ, a written notice of the incident must be given within 48 hours of being informed of the requirement.

Note: The site where the Notifiable Event occurred must not be disturbed until authorised by an inspector.
